How to delete your Skarb account
You can delete your Skarb account, and the data stored in it, yourself - in the Skarb mobile app or on the Skarb website. You do not need to contact us to do it.
Delete your account in the mobile app
- Open the Skarb app and sign in.
- Open the More tab (or the Settings tab if you have pinned it), then go to Settings → Data & privacy → Delete account.
- Check what will be deleted, type the email address of your account to confirm, and choose "Delete my account".
Delete your account on the website
- Sign in to Skarb.
- Go to Settings → Data & privacy → Delete account.
- Check what will be deleted, type the email address of your account to confirm, and choose "Delete my account".
Confirming that it is you
Deleting an account cannot be undone, so Skarb asks you to confirm it by typing the email address of your account. If you have not confirmed your identity recently, Skarb also asks you to do it again before it deletes anything; nothing is deleted until you complete that step. If you cancel either one, nothing changes.
What is deleted
When you confirm, the following is permanently deleted:
- your financial data: accounts, transactions and transfers, budgets and category budgets, budget alerts, savings goals and recurring payments;
- your categories and your settings;
- your Skarb account itself, with the email address, name and plan stored in it;
- your sign-in account with Clerk, our sign-in provider, so you are signed out on every device.
This cannot be undone. If you might need your data later, download it first with "Download my data" in the same "Data & privacy" section. If something goes wrong, you see an error message and can try again.
Deleted data is removed from the live database. As described in the Privacy Policy, it may remain for a while in database backups and provider logs until they are overwritten in the normal course.
Keep your account, delete only your financial data
If you only want to start over, choose "Delete all financial data" in the same "Data & privacy" section instead. It removes your accounts, transactions, budgets, goals, recurring payments and custom categories (the default categories are restored) and keeps your account, sign-in, plan and settings. It also asks you to confirm and, if needed, to confirm your identity again.
If you cannot sign in
If you cannot sign in to your account, write to support.skarb@gmail.com from the email address registered on the account and ask us to delete the account and its data. Suggested subject: "Delete my account". To check that the account is yours, we may ask you a confirmation question.
